Ports

The collection of port activity data shows the evolution of port throughput in Latin America and the Caribbean at the country and port levels since 2000. Throughput data is available aggregated by port and also by country, both meassured in TEU.

From 2019, commerce data for selected ports is also published.

Yearly port reports are also available in this section, with port classification and also sector analysis.

Terminology and accronyms:
Throughput: Total container movement in a port or country, including movement of full and empty containers.
TEU: Twenty-foot equivalent unit.
Commerce: Sum of full container exports and imports.
COAS: South America West Coast (Costa Oeste America del Sur).
CEAS: South America East Coast (Costa Este America del Sur).
